Soft Skin after following winter skin care tips

Winter Skin Care Tips For Any Skin Type

Winter can be really hard on all your skin, even if its not exposed to the elements, like your hands and face may be. Following some winter skin care tips will make sure you keep glowing and feel great all through the season.

Exfoliate with a gentle scrub:  We believe scrubs are essential to healthy, glowing skin. Exfoliating dead skin will allow moisturizers to absorb quicker and penetrate deeper.

Avoid hot showers and baths:  Hot showers and baths are wonderful in the cold winter months
but the heat can actually break down the lipid barriers in the skin, which can lead to a loss of
moisture. Stick to bathing in warm water for shorter amounts of time

Upgrade your moisturizer: Application of a quality moisturizer with key ingredients for winter skin care will keep your skin hydrated and glowing. Choose a moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid, ceramides, urea, antioxidants, mineral oil, primrose oil or almond oil. These are a few of many quality moisturizing ingredients available in lotions today. Be sure to speak to a beauty professional to determine the ideal moisturizer for your skin care needs. You can ask them what they use for your skin when you are getting a facial treatment

Adjust your skin care routine:  Using cleansing milks or mild foaming cleansers with non-alcohol based toners will set the stage for success. The addition of a hyaluronic acid serum will add much needed moisture before you lock it in with a quality moisturizer that is suited to your skin type. Be sure to moisturize as soon as you’re done bathing to avoid moisture loss before you have the chance to seal it in. This is a very important part winter skin care tips, so don’t skip it

Add moisture to your environment: Central heating systems run more often in the winter and
can dry the air around us leading to dry skin. Ensure your furnace humidifier or small personal
humidifiers are functioning properly to help add moisture to the air.
